Recently a great new opportunity has opened for our next step of faith. In one of our Council of Servants meetings a brother, Nate Augeson, shared a vision for ministry called The Rochester Outreach Center (ROC). Ultimately the goal is to give people who were oppressed, discouraged and outcasts from societal mainstream a second chance. This includes a second chance through relationship with Christ, opportunities to serve Christ, and ways become employed and to build a resume.
God raised up Soul Harbor Christian Fellowship to lease a 10,000 square foot ministry center. We offered the owners who desire $5 a square foot, just $200 a month. They are so impressed with the vision and the spirit of the team involved they accepted this offer! Over time our goal is to pay our own utilities and give the owners a fair price. We believe this to be a move of God and hope to take over the 26 acres and 70,000 square foot structure in His time.
Looking to make use of this facility is a ministry called Mission 21, which reaches out to minors who are rescued from sex trafficking and leads them to a life of purpose. Sharing Tree is a mission to families that need clothing and household items. These are just two examples as God continues to lift up independent missions that can work together to bring glory to Him!
Our own Victor Robinson and Dale DePeel are on this center’s board. As time goes on, our desire is that Dale DePeel’s ministry becomes more focused around the ROC vision, programs, and partnerships . Dale will be director and chaplain for the ministry center. I believe this is an incredible move of God!
Without the steady support of our Net Mender Mission benefactors, moving into opportunities like this would not be financially possible. Thank you! |
